A devastating incident unfolded at the scenic Peradi Pallam waterfalls in Marayoor, Idukki, resulting in the death of a 29-year-old man. The victim, identified as S Deepak, son of Shanmughan from Ayirakuzhi in Kottarakkara, lost his life after slipping from a rock in the area.

According to police reports, a group of five individuals from Kollam traveled to Kanthalloor on Thursday to visit a friend employed at the Kanthalloor panchayat. After their visit, the group decided to explore the picturesque waterfalls along the Peradi Pallam-Ollavayal route. While enjoying a meal seated on the rocks, Deepak reportedly descended to a lower section of the rocky terrain.

When he failed to return after some time, two of his friends grew concerned and went down to search for him. They witnessed Deepak attempting to climb back up the rock, but he suddenly lost his footing and fell. Despite immediate efforts to save him, including rushing him to a private hospital in Marayoor, medical personnel could not revive him, and he was pronounced dead.
