A 28-year-old man lost his life in a tragic road accident near the Eastern Peripheral Expressway (EPE) in Greater Noida on Monday. Police reported that his Royal Enfield Bullet motorcycle apparently slipped, leaving him trapped beneath the vehicle. Preliminary investigations suggest that the victim may have succumbed to the weight of the motorcycle and severe burn injuries caused by the hot engine and silencer.
Incident Details
The police were alerted around 10 am on Monday after a passerby discovered the man lying unconscious under a Royal Enfield motorcycle on Bisahda Road, close to the expressway in the Dadri area. Officers rushed to the scene and found the victim pinned under the bike. They managed to pull him out, but he had already died by then, an official stated.
The deceased was identified as Gaurav, a resident of Sikandrabad. He was likely returning home from work when the accident occurred, according to police. Scratch marks on the road indicate that the motorcycle may have skidded after the rider lost control. Investigators suspect that Gaurav was unable to free himself after the bike fell on top of him. The heat generated from the engine and silencer also caused burn injuries to his body.
Delayed Rescue
Police believe Gaurav died at the spot after being trapped under the motorcycle for an extended period. The area experiences relatively low traffic movement, which may have delayed assistance from reaching him in time, officials said. The victim's family has been informed, and autopsy results are awaited.
No police case has been registered so far, as there is no immediate indication of foul play. An investigation is underway, and police stated that they are examining all aspects related to the incident.
