A man who was out on bail was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Amritsar on Tuesday evening. The incident took place in the Majitha area, where the victim, identified as 35-year-old Gurpreet Singh, was attacked by two men on a motorcycle.

According to police, Gurpreet Singh was standing near a shop when the assailants arrived and opened fire. He sustained multiple gunshot wounds and died on the spot. The attackers fled the scene immediately after the shooting.
Background of the Victim
Gurpreet Singh had been released on bail just a week ago in a case related to a previous altercation. He was also involved in other criminal cases, police said. The motive behind the murder is not yet clear, and investigations are ongoing.
Senior police officials, including the Deputy Superintendent of Police, reached the spot and collected evidence. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Arms Act.
