In her first official visit to Jamui after assuming office, Bihar's newly appointed Minister of Sports and Information Technology, Shreyasi Singh, made significant development pledges that could transform the state's sports and technology landscape.
Major Infrastructure Upgrades for Bihar Sports
The Commonwealth Games gold medallist and Jamui MLA declared that operating all stadiums across Bihar smoothly and upgrading sports infrastructure would be her top priority. Addressing a large gathering at Sikandra in Jamui on Wednesday, the minister outlined her comprehensive vision for sports development.
"To operate all stadiums and improve their infrastructure across Bihar is my top priority," Minister Singh stated emphatically. "Wherever government resources fall short, we will form sports clubs with our young brothers and sisters and run them with community participation."
Drawing from her personal experience as a national-level shooter, she pledged to strengthen the sports ecosystem throughout the state, not just in her constituency.
Push for Artificial Intelligence Centre in Jamui
In a significant move for technological advancement, Shreyasi Singh made a strong appeal to the top NDA leadership to allocate one of the three newly approved Artificial Intelligence Centres of Excellence to Jamui district.
"Yesterday, in the first cabinet meeting of the new government, the decision was taken to establish three AI Centres of Excellence in Bihar. I request our leaders that Jamui district must get one of these centres," the minister announced during her address.
This initiative represents a major step toward bringing cutting-edge technology infrastructure to the region and could position Jamui as a hub for technological innovation in Bihar.
Grand Welcome and Public Service Initiatives
The minister's arrival in Jamui was marked by an enthusiastic reception from hundreds of NDA workers at multiple locations including Dhanraj Singh College, Sikandra Block premises, Sikandra Main Chowk, and Mahadev Simaria.
The welcome party included prominent political figures such as BJP district president Durga Kesari, JD(U) district president Shailendra Mahato, former district presidents, and leaders from alliance partners including RLM, LJP (Ram Vilas), and HAM.
In an emotional address, Shreyasi Singh described her victory and ministerial responsibility as a collective achievement. "This is not my victory alone – it belongs to every worker who walked with me and every citizen who wants development," she stated.
The minister announced practical measures for public engagement, revealing that a dedicated public grievance and suggestion office will start functioning in Jamui where people can submit applications from 9 am to 5 pm daily.
"Every letter submitted will get a reply within two weeks," she promised, demonstrating her commitment to responsive governance.
Reiterating that her responsibilities now extend across Bihar, Shreyasi Singh affirmed, "With the same spirit of service and honesty that we showed in the last five years, I will now serve entire Bihar."
