Speaking at Kumar's 77th birthday celebrations on Tuesday, Moily reflected on Kumar's enduring commitment, noting that he was entrusted with substantial responsibilities over three decades ago based on unwavering trust. Since then, Kumar has played a pivotal role in both expanding and consolidating the cooperative sector, achieving a remarkable record by serving as president for 33 years. This tenure surpasses the previous benchmark of 25 years set by Molahalli Shiva Rao, underscoring Kumar's unparalleled dedication and impact.

Moily further credited Kumar with identifying and nurturing new talent, which has been instrumental in building a strong and resilient cooperative ecosystem in the coastal belt. Emphasizing the region's historical significance as the birthplace of several major banks, Moily expressed concern over recent mergers involving three banks. He stressed the critical importance of preserving strong, locally rooted cooperative institutions to maintain community-focused financial services.
