MP Cabinet Shifts to Khajuraho for 2-Day Review of All Departments
MP Cabinet Moves to Khajuraho for Key Review Meetings

In an unusual move, the administrative heart of Madhya Pradesh will beat from the historic temple town of Khajuraho for two days this week. The state's seat of power is temporarily relocating as Chief Minister Mohan Yadav convenes a crucial cabinet meeting and review sessions to assess the performance of all government departments over the last two years.

Khajuraho Hosts the Seat of Power

The significant shift in venue will see ministers and senior officials moving to Khajuraho with their essential files and documents by Sunday night. The main cabinet meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, between 3 pm and 5 pm, where Chief Minister Yadav will address his ministers directly regarding their departments' achievements and shortcomings.

This relocation underscores the government's focused approach to taking stock of its administration away from the capital's routine bustle. The review process, initiated by CM Yadav on December 2, has already covered several key ministries in Bhopal.

Departments Under the Scanner

So far, the Chief Minister has conducted in-depth reviews of a wide array of departments. The assessed portfolios include:

  • Energy and Renewable Energy
  • School Education and Skill Development
  • Panchayat and Rural Development
  • Woman and Child Development
  • Health and Family Welfare
  • Cooperatives
  • Narmada Valley Development and Water Resources
  • Backward Classes and Minority Welfare
  • Social Justice and Disabled Welfare
  • Agriculture and Farmer Welfare
  • Horticulture and Food Processing

The remaining departments will face scrutiny during the Khajuraho leg of this comprehensive exercise.

Monday's Agenda in the Temple Town

On Monday, a series of review meetings are planned for the departments yet to be evaluated. The focus will be on:

  • Food and Civil Supplies
  • Commercial Taxes
  • Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development
  • Urban Development and Housing
  • Tribal Affairs and Scheduled Areas
  • MSME (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises)
  • Public Works and Public Health Engineering

These sessions are critical for the government to chart its course for the remaining tenure and identify areas needing immediate intervention or acceleration.

A Strategic Review for Future Governance

This two-day intensive exercise in Khajuraho marks a pivotal moment for the Mohan Yadav-led government. By reviewing all departments within a concentrated timeframe, the administration aims to gain a holistic view of its governance model. The outcomes of these meetings are expected to influence policy directives, budgetary allocations, and administrative priorities for the state in the coming months. The choice of Khajuraho as the venue adds a symbolic dimension, linking the state's modern governance with its rich cultural heritage.
