Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Unveils Major Development Push for Katni District

In a significant move aimed at boosting rural infrastructure and agricultural prosperity, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Saturday announced a comprehensive package of development works valued at Rs 1,000 crore for Katni district. The announcement was made during the Kisan Mahotsav event held in Barhi, where the CM reiterated the state government's unwavering commitment to expanding irrigation facilities, providing housing, and enhancing welfare schemes for rural families across the region.

Inauguration of 97 Projects Worth Rs 243 Crore

During the event, Chief Minister Yadav inaugurated and performed the bhoomi poojan for a total of 97 development projects with a combined worth of Rs 243 crore in the Vijayraghavgarh area. These initiatives are part of the broader strategy to uplift agricultural communities and ensure sustainable growth. Yadav emphasized that the state is dedicated to fostering the prosperity of farmers, who form the backbone of Madhya Pradesh's economy.

Expansion of Irrigation Coverage and Daytime Electricity

Highlighting the government's achievements, Yadav revealed that irrigation coverage in Madhya Pradesh has seen a substantial increase, expanding to 55 lakh hectares over the past two years. Looking ahead, the administration has set an ambitious target to further extend this coverage to 100 lakh hectares in the coming years. In a move that promises to significantly benefit farmers, the CM also announced that electricity for irrigation purposes will now be made available during daytime hours, addressing a long-standing demand of the agricultural sector.

Focus on Housing and Industrial Growth

To ensure that rural families have access to permanent housing, Yadav disclosed plans for a new survey that will soon be initiated across the state. This initiative aims to identify and address the housing needs of underserved communities, aligning with the government's broader welfare agenda. On the economic front, the Chief Minister highlighted that employment-oriented industrial units with a total investment worth Rs 9 lakh crore are currently being established in Madhya Pradesh, positioning the state as one of the fastest-growing economies in India.

Madhya Pradesh's Economic Performance

Yadav pointed out that Madhya Pradesh has emerged as one of the fastest-growing states in the country, with a robust economic trajectory supported by strategic investments and policy initiatives. Notably, the unemployment rate in the state remains lower than the national average, reflecting the effectiveness of the government's job creation and industrial development efforts. This economic resilience underscores the state's commitment to fostering a conducive environment for both agricultural and industrial advancement.

The announcements made during the Kisan Mahotsav underscore the state government's holistic approach to development, integrating infrastructure, agriculture, housing, and industrial growth to drive overall prosperity in Madhya Pradesh.
