Mumbai: In a swift and courageous act, a police constable along with some citizens rescued a 46-year-old woman who jumped into the sea at Marine Drive on Sunday. The incident occurred when the woman suddenly leaped into the water, prompting immediate action from those nearby.
Brave Rescue by Police Constable
Police constable Jayesh Mali did not hesitate for a moment when he saw the woman in distress. Without wasting any time, he jumped into the sea to save her. With the assistance of passersby, he managed to bring her safely to the shore. The quick coordination between Mali and the citizens ensured that the rescue operation was completed without any further complications.
Medical Assistance and Hospitalization
Assistant sub inspector Someshwar Chougule and sub inspector Gagre swiftly arranged for medical help. The woman was immediately shifted to GT Hospital for treatment. According to hospital sources, her condition is currently stable, and she is under observation.
Police officials stated that the woman did not provide any reason for her drastic step. However, she did share her son's contact number, who was subsequently called to the hospital. The son informed the police that his mother had not been eating properly for the past week. The officer added that the woman appeared to be mentally disturbed, although the exact cause of her distress remains unknown.
The incident highlights the importance of community vigilance and the prompt response of law enforcement in preventing tragedies. The police constable's bravery and the cooperation of the citizens have been widely appreciated.
