In a pressing appeal, Mahim-based social worker Syed M. Ismail has called upon the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and the BEST electricity wing to take swift action to restore and enhance street lighting at Reti Bunder Beach in Mahim. He warns that the current state of poor illumination is posing a significant threat to public safety, putting residents and visitors at risk.
Critical Safety Concerns Highlighted
According to Ismail, numerous street lights along the beachfront have become non-functional, leaving extensive areas shrouded in darkness after sunset. This lack of proper lighting has fostered an unsafe environment for the diverse groups who frequent the beach, including families, tourists, and local residents, especially during evening hours.
