MYL suspends Idukki district committee over provocative slogans

The state leadership of the Muslim Youth League (MYL) has suspended its Idukki district committee for raising provocative slogans against NSS general secretary Sukumaran Nair and SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellappally Natesan. The incident occurred during a celebration march organized in Thodupuzha following the announcement of V D Satheesan as the next chief minister of Kerala.

Reasons for suspension

State general secretary P K Firoz stated that the district committee was suspended for organizing and participating in a procession in a manner that was provocative and inconsistent with the discipline and dignity of the party. He emphasized that such actions violate the party's code of conduct.

Party's stance on the matter

IUML state general secretary P M A Salam condemned the actions, saying they go against the party's traditions and values. He reiterated that the party strongly rejects such tendencies. Salam reminded that Panakkad Syed Sadiq Ali Shihab Thangal had earlier instructed party workers not to allow celebration processions to cross limits. Salam added that the party would not accept anyone acting against that directive.
