In a significant development in Mysuru, Krishnaraja MLA TS Srivatsa has leveled serious allegations against district administration officials, accusing them of attempting to assist land sharks in illegally acquiring 24 acres of prime government land. This controversy erupted just days after the Mysuru district administration cleared encroachments on this valuable property located in Kurubarahalli, at the scenic foothills of the iconic Chamundi Hills.

Addressing the media, MLA TS Srivatsa revealed that the government land in question is estimated to be worth a staggering Rs 200 crore. He emphatically stated that the land is officially recorded as government property in the Records of Rights, Tenancy and Crops (RTC) maintained by the Mysuru taluk tahsildar. Despite this clear documentation, Srivatsa alleged that benami individuals—persons holding property under a false name—have entered into a sale agreement with two firms based in Bengaluru.

"This raises grave concerns about the legality and transparency of the entire transaction," Srivatsa declared. He pointedly questioned how officials could possibly permit the registration of a sale agreement for land that is unequivocally owned by the government. "The very act of allowing such a registration for public property is highly suspicious and warrants immediate scrutiny," he added.

Call for High-Level Investigation and Enforcement Directorate Probe

Labeling the situation a large-scale financial scam, MLA Srivatsa has urgently called for a comprehensive, high-level investigation into the conduct of the involved officials. He stressed the necessity of uncovering any potential collusion or negligence that may have enabled this alleged illegal land deal to proceed.

Furthermore, Srivatsa has advocated for the involvement of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to probe the financial dimensions of the case. "Given the enormous value of the land and the serious allegations of benami transactions, a thorough investigation by the Enforcement Directorate is essential to uncover any money laundering or illicit financial activities," he asserted.
