Nagaland govt appoints 6 MLAs as advisers to CM

The Nagaland government on Monday appointed six members of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly as advisers to the Chief Minister, with immediate effect. The cabinet secretariat (cabinet cell) issued a notification detailing the allocation of departments to each adviser.

Advisers and Their Portfolios

Kuzholuzo Nienu has been assigned the Science & Technology department. Puthai Longon will oversee the Taxes department. Picto Shohe takes charge of the New & Renewable Energy department. Achumbemo Kikon has been allocated the SCERT and Food Processing departments. Nyusietho Nyuthe will handle the NSDMA and Inland Waterways departments. Daochier I Imchen has been given the Information & Public Relations and Soil & Water Conservation departments.

Roles and Responsibilities

According to the notification, the advisers will provide advice on matters referred to them by the concerned departments. They will also offer their views and suggestions before these matters are placed before the respective ministers-in-charge for final decisions.
