Nagpur Leads Maharashtra Revenue with 104.58% Collection

Nagpur Division Emerges as Maharashtra's Revenue Leader for 2025-26

The Nagpur division has secured the top position in revenue mobilisation across Maharashtra for the financial year 2025-26, achieving an impressive 104.58% of its target. This outstanding performance was primarily driven by robust collections from minor minerals, which compensated for structural constraints in land revenue generation.

Revenue Collection Exceeds Target by Over ₹47 Crore

Against a combined target of ₹1,033.41 crore under land revenue and minor minerals, the division successfully collected ₹1,080.76 crore. Divisional Commissioner Vijayalakshmi Bidari confirmed these figures, highlighting the strategic shift in revenue mobilisation that enabled this achievement.

The performance is particularly notable given the ongoing challenges in land revenue generation across various districts within the division. Officials explained that the shortfall in traditional land revenue was effectively offset through higher recovery from minor mineral resources, reflecting a deliberate and strategic approach to fiscal management.

This performance reflects a broader trend in Maharashtra's fiscal management, where mineral resources are becoming increasingly vital for regional revenue stability. The Nagpur division's success demonstrates how strategic resource allocation and targeted collection efforts can overcome structural limitations in traditional revenue streams.

The achievement of 104.58% against the overall target positions Nagpur division as a model for effective revenue mobilisation in the state, showcasing how diversified income sources can contribute to fiscal resilience and economic stability.
