In a vibrant display of democratic triumph, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, accompanied by his wife Bhuvaneswari, participated in the farmers' celebrations in Amaravati on Thursday. This event followed the crucial passage of the Amaravati Legality Bill in Parliament, marking a significant milestone for the state of Andhra Pradesh.

Addressing a massive gathering of farmers and women at Uddandarayunipalem, Chief Minister Naidu described the development as a defining moment in democratic history. He emphasized that the approval of the Bill in Parliament reflects the strength of democracy and the unwavering will of the people. Naidu stated that this day would be recorded in golden letters in the nation's history, underscoring that Amaravati's legacy is permanent, as are the sacrifices made by the farmers.
"We have secured our capital by overcoming numerous conspiracies. This is a people's capital, and this victory belongs to the people," he declared, highlighting the collective effort and resilience involved.
Gratitude to Central Leadership and Nationwide Support
Expressing profound gratitude, Naidu thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for upholding the self-respect of the people of Andhra Pradesh. He also acknowledged the support extended by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the central government, and political parties across the country, which were instrumental in ensuring the Bill's passage.
Recalling the foundation ceremony, the chief minister noted that Prime Minister Modi had brought sacred soil and water, symbolizing national support for Amaravati. He explained that the land has been sanctified with soil from Parliament and water from the Yamuna river, making it a spiritually significant site. Special prayers were performed at prominent temples before the foundation was laid, adding to the ceremonial importance.
Naidu pointed out that, except for one party, all political forces in the country have now extended their support to Amaravati, showcasing broad-based endorsement.
Criticism of Past Remarks and Legal Validation
The chief minister criticized past remarks that demeaned the capital, stating that despite attempts to undermine it, Amaravati has now received an irreversible legal status through Parliament. This legal backing solidifies its position and counters previous disparagements.
Farmers' Contribution and Symbol of Telugu Aspirations
Highlighting the monumental contribution of farmers, Naidu revealed that nearly 29,000 farmers voluntarily pooled about 33,000 acres of land for the capital, driven by trust and a shared vision for development. "Amaravati stands as a symbol of the self-respect and aspirations of the Telugu people," he asserted, reinforcing the emotional and cultural significance of the capital.

The celebrations were attended by several prominent figures, including Civil Supplies Minister Nadendla Manohar from Janasena and BJP state unit president PVN Madhav. Additionally, Municipal Administration Minister Narayana and local legislator Tenali Sravan Kumar participated in a farmers' bike rally in the capital city, adding to the festive atmosphere and community engagement.
