Vijayawada: HRD and IT minister Nara Lokesh assured people that the government would extend all possible support and take steps to resolve their grievances. He received petitions on various issues during the Praja Darbar held at the TDP central office in Mangalagiri on Tuesday. Lokesh received representations from people, including demands related to irrigation, employment, banking irregularities, women's welfare and village development, and assured that the issues would be examined and necessary action would be taken.
Irrigation Project Demands
Representatives of the Varikapudisela Jala Sadhana Samithi met Lokesh and appealed for expediting the construction works of the Varikapudisela Lift Irrigation Project, a crucial project for Palnadu district. They requested immediate steps to begin the project work to address irrigation requirements in the region.
Yoga Instructors Seek Justice
A group of 1,056 yoga instructors who claimed to have been affected by the Buddha Yoga Foundation approached the minister seeking justice. They requested recognition for their services over the past three years and sought measures to continue yoga-related services under government supervision in the future.
Banking Irregularities Alleged
Victims from Jangareddygudem in Eluru district submitted a petition seeking a detailed inquiry into alleged irregularities in gold loans at Bank of Baroda. They alleged discrepancies in the weight of gold ornaments pledged by them and sought legal action against those involved in the alleged irregularities.
Women's Welfare and Healthcare
Representatives of AP MRPS requested the minister to introduce a direct cash transfer scheme for the healthcare needs of poor pregnant women in the state. They also sought the establishment of women's police stations in every Assembly constituency to strengthen security and protection for women.
Village Development Appeal
N Mallikarjuna Naidu from Venkatadripalem Panchayat in Yerragondapalem mandal of Prakasam district requested funds for the overall development of the village. He appealed for the construction of roads and a bridge across Gandivagu to improve connectivity.
