Nashik Mayor Takes Action on Civic Complaints During Ward Visit
Nashik City Mayor Himgauri Aher has issued urgent directives to municipal officials to address critical infrastructure problems in Ward No. 31 of the Cidco division. During her latest 'Visit to Ward' initiative on Thursday, Mayor Aher personally assessed the deteriorating conditions and mandated swift corrective measures.
Comprehensive Inspection of Affected Areas
Accompanied by Deputy Mayor Vilas Shinde and corporators Bhagwan Donde, Balkrishna Shirsath, and Madhuri Demse, the mayor conducted an extensive tour of multiple localities. The inspection covered Dnyaneshwar Nagar, MHADA Colony, Swarajya Nagar, the Poddar School area, the sewage project zone, Gaulane Road, Pathardi, Dadhegaon, and Pimpalgaon Khamb.
Residents voiced numerous complaints regarding poor road conditions, severe water scarcity, and inadequate basic facilities. Mayor Aher listened attentively to these grievances and provided on-the-spot instructions, which prompted immediate action from civic departments in several instances.
Prioritizing Road Repairs and Water Supply Fixes
Emphasizing the urgent need for road repairs, particularly in the Poddar School area, Mayor Aher assured local residents that "the work would be prioritised" and expedited by municipal teams. She directed officials to commence restoration work without delay to improve connectivity and safety.
Regarding persistent water supply issues, the mayor instructed the water department to repair the malfunctioning overhead tank in Dnyaneshwar Nagar. Additionally, she mandated the development of a comprehensive plan to tackle shortages in the Pathardi–Gaulane belt, ensuring more reliable water access for affected households.
Addressing Water Contamination Concerns
A significant environmental issue was also addressed during the visit. Mayor Aher responded to complaints about contaminated water discharge from the Nashik Municipal Corporation compost plant at Pathardi. She announced that "the polluted water would be diverted to the Pimpalgaon Khamb water treatment plant" and ordered officials to accelerate this diversion project to prevent further environmental damage.
Advancing Long-Term Infrastructure Proposals
The ward visit also served as a platform to advance key infrastructure proposals that promise long-term benefits for the community. Mayor Aher reviewed plans for a new bridge across the Waldevi river, connecting Dadhegaon and Pathardi, which would significantly improve transportation and accessibility.
Furthermore, she discussed an alternative water-supply strategy for Pimpalgaon Khamb, Chinchwadi, and Jadhavwadi, aiming to create a more sustainable and resilient water distribution network for these areas.
This marked Mayor Aher's second ward inspection under her proactive initiative, following a previous visit to Mhasrul in Panchavati last week. The program demonstrates her commitment to grassroots governance and responsive civic administration.
