A tragic incident occurred at Dr Yashwant Singh Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry in Nauni, Solan district, Himachal Pradesh, where a student drowned in a pond near the campus. The deceased has been identified as a second-year student of the university. According to police reports, the student went to the pond along with friends and accidentally slipped into the water. Despite immediate rescue efforts by fellow students and locals, he could not be revived. The body was later retrieved and sent for post-mortem examination. A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway. The university administration expressed deep condolences and assured full cooperation with the authorities.
