UP BJP's First Strategy Meet Under Pankaj Chaudhary Focuses on Voter Rolls, Modi Visit
New UP BJP Chief Chairs First Strategy Meeting in Lucknow

In his first major organisational engagement since taking charge, the newly appointed Uttar Pradesh BJP president, Pankaj Chaudhary, convened a crucial strategy meeting at the party's state headquarters in Lucknow. The gathering, aimed at hammering out poll strategies and reviewing ongoing campaigns, saw the presence of top party brass, including Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Minister JP Nadda.

High-Level Attendance and Key Discussions

JP Nadda, who was in the city for a programme at the King George's Medical University (KGMU), accompanied Chaudhary to the party office. While projected as an introductory session for the new state president, insiders revealed the meeting delved into substantial organisational programmes. A primary focus was the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise for revising electoral rolls.

Nadda emphasised the dual objective of activating the grassroots cadre to ensure all eligible voters are registered while simultaneously removing any "unauthorised voters" from the lists. This emphasis is seen as the BJP's attempt to frame the revision drive as an exercise in administrative accuracy rather than political manoeuvring, a claim strongly contested by opposition parties who label it manipulative.

Preparations for Prime Minister Modi's Visit and Ideological Showcase

The meeting also extensively discussed the forthcoming visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 25. On this day, the PM is scheduled to inaugurate the Rashtriya Prerna Sthal in Lucknow, a memorial featuring 65-foot bronze statues of party stalwarts Syama Prasad Mookerjee, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya, and Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Party functionaries have been instructed to mobilise and bring as many supporters as possible to Lucknow for the event. Analysts suggest that by foregrounding its ideological icons, the BJP aims to reinforce its political lineage and boost cadre morale ahead of a busy electoral calendar starting next year.

Review of Upcoming Commemorative Events

Leaders also took stock of preparations for Bal Veer Diwas on December 26, observed annually to honour the courage and sacrifice of the four Sahibzadas of Sikh Guru Gobind Singh. Nadda highlighted their refusal to bow to injustice and oppression for the protection of nation, culture, and religion.

Later, Pankaj Chaudhary outlined the party's intent to make all programmes "all-encompassing, inclusive, and universally accessible." He announced that the party would celebrate the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on December 25. District-level seminars will be organised to discuss Vajpayee's historic decisions, leadership qualities, and timeless personality.

The meeting, attended by state vice-presidents, the general secretary, and other key leaders, marks the beginning of a new phase for the UP BJP under Chaudhary's leadership, with a clear focus on organisational streamlining and large-scale mobilisation.
