Bihar CM Nitish Kumar Inaugurates New Vidhan Parishad Guest House and Facilities in Patna
In a significant development for Bihar's legislative infrastructure, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday inaugurated a newly constructed five-storey guest house under the legislators' housing project. The ceremony, held in Patna, saw the CM unveil the foundation plaque and cut the ribbons to mark the official opening of the facility.
State-of-the-Art Guest House Features
The guest house boasts 30 suite rooms, each equipped with a small kitchen, a drawing room, and a restroom with a toilet. Additionally, the building includes four lounges and a security lounge, ensuring comfort and safety for its occupants. To enhance accessibility, a lift with a capacity of eight persons has been installed, making it convenient for all users.
Inauguration of Additional Facilities
Alongside the guest house, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also inaugurated a canteen and library building as well as a community center. According to a communique issued from the chief minister's office (CMO), the canteen and library building is a two-storey structure with distinct sections.
- On the ground floor and first floor of the canteen, facilities include a dining hall, kitchen, restroom, pantry, store, service area, and toilet.
- The library section features an office room, library, and toilet on the ground floor, while the first floor houses a reading hall, lobby, and store.
The community center, also a two-storey building, contains a hall, store, kitchen, lobby, and toilet on both floors. All these facilities have been specifically built for the members of the Vidhan Parishad, as confirmed by an official.
CM's Inspection and Remarks
Following the inauguration, Nitish Kumar conducted a thorough inspection of the newly constructed guest house. He visited various sections, including the first floor and terrace, to assess the facilities and arrangements. Expressing satisfaction, the CM stated, "The guest house has been constructed very well. The members of the Vidhan Parishad will benefit from the facilities available here."
Dignitaries in Attendance
The event was graced by prominent political figures, including both deputy chief ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha. Other attendees included Awdhesh Narayan Singh, chairman of the legislative council; Prem Kumar, Speaker of the legislative assembly; and ministers such as Vijay Kumar Choudhary (water resources), Dilip Kumar Jaiswal (road construction), Shravan Kumar (rural development), and Ashok Chaudhary (rural works). Additionally, Ram Vachan Ray, deputy chairman of the legislative council, along with MLCs and other public representatives, were present at the ceremony.
This inauguration marks a step forward in enhancing the infrastructure for Bihar's legislators, providing them with modern amenities and a conducive environment for their official duties.
