Patna witnessed significant infrastructure developments as Chief Minister Nitish Kumar conducted a thorough inspection of two major ongoing projects on Wednesday. The veteran leader personally assessed the construction progress of the Danapur-Bihta elevated corridor and the Sherpur-Dighwara Ganga bridge, directing officials to accelerate the pace of work for early completion.
Accelerating Danapur-Bihta Elevated Corridor
During his visit to the Danapur-Bihta elevated corridor site, the Chief Minister sought detailed updates about the construction progress from concerned officials. The project team informed him that work is advancing rapidly without any significant hurdles or problems affecting the timeline.
Nitish Kumar emphasized the transformative impact this project will have on regional connectivity. "The completion of this project will ease traffic from Bihta to Koilwar," he stated. "It will help in connecting the state capital to NH-922 and Koilwar bridge while functioning as an important feeder corridor connecting NH-922 to the Ring Road at Kanhauli Mor and NH-139 to AIIMS roundabout."
The Chief Minister particularly highlighted the special connectivity planned for the upcoming Bihta international airport, underscoring the project's strategic importance for future aviation infrastructure. He revealed his personal involvement in monitoring the project, noting, "I have been continuously inspecting this project and have been giving suggestions regarding it from time to time."
Sherpur-Dighwara Ganga Bridge Progress
Following the elevated corridor inspection, the Chief Minister proceeded to review the construction status of the Sherpur-Dighwara Ganga bridge. Officials reported similarly rapid progress on this crucial river crossing project, assuring the CM that the state government has provided all necessary assistance for smooth construction.
During this inspection, Nitish Kumar examined the specific location where the JP Ganga Path will connect with the new bridge, indicating the integrated approach to Patna's transportation network development.
The Chief Minister outlined the significant benefits expected from this project completion. "The completion of the Sherpur-Dighwara project will reduce the traffic burden on the state capital and also make the city's traffic system more robust and smooth," he explained.
Regional Connectivity Transformation
Nitish Kumar emphasized the broader regional impact of these infrastructure projects. He specifically mentioned that travelers heading towards Chhapra, Siwan, Gopalganj, and Hajipur will no longer need to pass through Patna's main urban areas, significantly reducing congestion in the city center.
"With the completion of these two projects, state residents will get an alternative route to go from one place to another," the Chief Minister affirmed, highlighting the enhanced mobility options for Bihar's citizens.
The inspection was attended by several senior officials including CM's principal secretary Deepak Kumar, CM's secretary Anupam Kumar, road construction department secretary Sandeep Kumar R Pudukalakatti, CM's secretary Chandrashekhar Singh, Patna district magistrate Thiyagarajan SM, and SSP Kartikeya K Sharma, demonstrating the administrative importance attached to these projects.
