Patna: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is set to resume the third leg of his Samriddhi Yatra starting Tuesday, March 10, as confirmed by an official statement issued on Sunday. The yatra, which was initially launched on January 16 from Bettiah in West Champaran district, had been temporarily halted due to the month-long budget session of the state legislature.

Official Communication and Administrative Preparations

In a detailed letter circulated to top state administration officials, including additional chief secretaries, principal secretaries, the Director General of Police (DGP), divisional commissioners, district magistrates, and senior police officers such as SSPs and SPs, the cabinet secretariat department's additional chief secretary Arvind Kumar Choudhary outlined the schedule and objectives of the yatra. The communication, dispatched on Sunday, emphasized that the CM will conduct thorough reviews of ongoing government projects and schemes during this tour.

All additional chief secretaries from relevant departments, the DGP, and other senior officials responsible for project implementation are mandated to participate in the review meetings that will be held throughout the yatra. This ensures a comprehensive assessment of development works at the grassroots level.

Schedule and District Coverage for the Third Phase

The third phase of the Samriddhi Yatra is scheduled to run from March 10 to 14. During this period, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will visit and inspect projects in the following districts:

  • Supaul
  • Madhepura
  • Araria
  • Kishanganj
  • Purnia
  • Katihar
  • Saharsa
  • Khagaria
  • Begusarai
  • Sheikhpura

Background and Previous Phases of the Yatra

The Samriddhi Yatra was inaugurated on January 16, with the first phase conducted from January 16 to 24. During this initial leg, CM Nitish Kumar covered districts including West Champaran, East Champaran, Sitamarhi, Sheohar, Gopalganj, Saran, Siwan, Muzaffarpur, and Vaishali. The second phase followed from January 27 to 29, focusing on the Darbhanga division with events held in Madhubani on January 27, Darbhanga on January 28, and concluding in Samastipur on January 29.

The primary objective of the Samriddhi Yatra is to review development works, inaugurate new schemes, and engage with citizens across districts to assess the effectiveness of policy execution at the local level. This initiative builds upon the earlier Pragati Yatra, which was launched statewide in December 2024 and continued until February 2025, further underscoring the government's commitment to on-ground monitoring and public outreach.
