A volunteer orientation programme was organized under the joint aegis of the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of BD College, Patna, and Prem Youth Foundation. The initiative aimed at fostering volunteer spirit, leadership skills, and a strong sense of social responsibility among the youth.
Inaugural Address by Principal
Ratna Amrit, principal of BD College, presided over the programme. In her address, she highly appreciated the efforts of the NSS unit and motivated students to actively engage in various social service activities. She also extended her congratulations to the students who have been selected for the prestigious Gandhi Fellowship.
Keynote Lecture by Deepak Mandal
The keynote speaker, Deepak Mandal, youth officer of the NSS, regional directorate, Patna, delivered an insightful lecture. He highlighted the important role of NSS in nation-building and encouraged students to make the most of this platform for personal growth and community service. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students.
Summer Camp at Patna Doon Public School
The weekly summer camp organized at Patna Doon Public School concluded with great enthusiasm. The closing ceremony featured prize distribution to the participants and cultural programmes presented by the students. Addressing the gathering, director Rakesh Kumar encouraged the children to maintain a healthy balance between studies and entertainment during their summer vacation. He emphasized the importance of consistent learning alongside recreational activities.
The event was attended by the school’s founder Indu Sinha, assistant director Shweta Sinha, principal Simple Kumari Sinha, along with all teachers and students. The principal delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the chief guests, teachers, and participants for making the summer camp a success.
