NTK Candidate T Rajessh Kicks Off Election Campaign from Suriyur, Highlights Pending Infrastructure Demands
In a significant move ahead of the upcoming elections, NTK candidate T Rajessh, who is contesting from the Thiruverumbur constituency, has officially launched his campaign from Suriyur. The campaign launch focused heavily on the long-standing infrastructure issues plaguing the segment, with Rajessh directly targeting the incumbent DMK MLA and School Education Minister, Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, for failing to address these critical concerns.
Accusations Against Incumbent DMK MLA
Rajessh did not mince words as he accused Minister Poyyamozhi of neglecting his promises, particularly regarding the development of service roads for the Trichy-Thanjavur National Highway. "The minister has not brought any significant projects to our constituency," Rajessh stated emphatically during his campaign speech. He further criticized the allocation of resources, pointing out that instead of providing much-needed playgrounds for government schools, the minister is prioritizing the development of an Olympic Academy, which he claims will primarily benefit students from private educational institutions.
Rajessh's Political Background and Electoral Performance
Rajessh, a notable figure from the 2017 pro-jallikattu protests, has established a strong political presence in the region. In the 2024 Lok Sabha election, he secured an impressive over 1 lakh votes, finishing in third place. This performance has bolstered his credibility and positioned him as a formidable contender in the current electoral battle.
Campaign Promises and Commitments
In his campaign, Rajessh made several bold promises to the electorate. He vowed to resolve the issue of service roads for the Trichy-Thanjavur NH within one year if elected. Additionally, he committed to retrieving the land of the Ariyamangalam dump yard within two years. To underscore his dedication, Rajessh declared, "If I fail to deliver on these promises, I shall resign from my position." This strong stance aims to build trust and demonstrate his commitment to addressing the constituency's pressing infrastructure needs.
The campaign from Suriyur marks a strategic start for Rajessh, as he seeks to capitalize on local dissatisfaction with current infrastructure and project allocations. By highlighting these issues and presenting clear solutions, he hopes to sway voters in his favor and bring about tangible improvements to the Thiruverumbur segment.
