In a significant gesture of recognition, the Jharkhand government honored more than three thousand veterans of the statehood movement at a formal ceremony held in the state capital.
Aryabatta Auditorium Hosts Grand Felicitation
The event took place on Wednesday at the Aryabatta auditorium in Ranchi. It was organized by the state home, jail and disaster management department. The ceremony saw a large gathering of the Adhisuchit Jharkhand Andolankaris, the designated statehood movement activists, who were presented with official certificates of appreciation.
Administration's Pledge to Andolankaris
Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri and Superintendent of Police Rakesh Ranjan personally handed over the certificates to the activists. Addressing the gathering, Bhajantri emphasized the pivotal role played by every Andolankari in the struggle that led to the formation of Jharkhand as a separate state.
He stated that the administration remains steadfast in its commitment to safeguarding the dignity, rights, and social security of these veterans. Bhajantri further added that their immense contributions and sacrifices would continue to serve as a source of inspiration for the progress and development of the state.
Recognizing the Architects of Statehood
The felicitation function underscores the government's effort to formally acknowledge the efforts of those who fought for Jharkhand's identity. The event served as a poignant reminder of the long movement that culminated in the creation of the state on November 15, 2000.
