Madurai: P Akash assumed charge as the new district collector of Madurai on Monday. The seasoned administrator brings with him a wealth of experience from various key positions across Tamil Nadu's bureaucracy.
Extensive Administrative Background
Akash previously served as additional collector in Dharmapuri district, sub-collector of Dindigul division, and Cheranmahadevi division in Tirunelveli district. He also held the position of zonal deputy commissioner in the Greater Chennai Corporation and served as the executive director of the Chennai (North) Water Supply and Sewerage Board. Additionally, he served as the district collector of Tenkasi and Nagapattinam, joint secretary in the department of labor welfare and skill development, and executive director of the State Industries Promotion Corporation.
Transition of Leadership
The outgoing collector, K J Praveen Kumar, has taken charge as the collector of Nagapattinam district, continuing the administrative reshuffle. Akash's appointment is expected to bring continuity and fresh perspectives to Madurai's development initiatives.
With his extensive experience in urban and rural administration, water supply management, and industrial promotion, Akash is well-positioned to address the challenges and opportunities in Madurai district.
