AIADMK Leader Palaniswami Fires Back at DMK's 'BJP Slave' Allegations

In a sharp retort during an election rally in Perambalur, AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami on Monday vehemently dismissed accusations from DMK president M K Stalin and deputy chief minister Udhayanidhi Stalin labeling him as a "BJP slave". Palaniswami asserted that the DMK lacks the moral authority to level such charges, citing historical contradictions within their own party.

DMK Accused of Hypocrisy and Personal Attacks

Addressing supporters, Palaniswami criticized the DMK leadership for resorting to personal attacks to secure political mileage. "Stalin and his son Udhayanidhi Stalin call me a slave to the BJP for political gain," he stated, while highlighting a media report. "But Stalin himself speaks about Narendra Modi, and his father Karunanidhi had described Modi as a good person. This exposes their double standards."

Questioning the DMK's Alliance Strategy

Palaniswami further challenged the DMK's current political alliances, particularly with the Congress. He recalled that former DMK chief Karunanidhi had warned that bad alliances lead to failure and had severed ties with the Congress. Similarly, Stalin had previously emphasized the importance of choosing allies wisely and ruled out any alliance with the Congress.

"Why has the DMK now aligned with them?" Palaniswami questioned, pointing to what he described as a strategic inconsistency. He also noted that parties like MDMK, DMDK, and MNM, which once strongly criticized the DMK, are now part of its alliance. "Having joined hands with them, the DMK has no moral right to criticize us," he added.

Raising Controversial Audio Clip Involving A Raja

The AIADMK leader also brought up a purported audio clip involving DMK leader A Raja, alleging that Raja had sharply criticized the Karunanidhi family. Palaniswami urged Stalin to demonstrate courage by condemning Raja instead of targeting the AIADMK. "If Stalin has the courage, he should condemn Raja. Instead, he targets us," he said, further alleging that Raja has warned of more audio recordings being released if action is taken against him.

This rally underscored the intensifying political rhetoric in Tamil Nadu as parties gear up for elections, with Palaniswami positioning the AIADMK as a principled alternative to what he termed the DMK's opportunistic alliances.
