In a distressing incident in Patna, a municipal service bus experienced a critical brake failure, resulting in collisions and injuries to five individuals. The accident occurred near the Fraser Road petrol pump within the jurisdiction of the Kotwali police station area on Saturday.

Details of the Accident and Immediate Aftermath

The runaway bus, after its brakes malfunctioned, collided with a parked bus from behind and struck another vehicle in the vicinity. This sudden impact caused panic among commuters, with passengers hastily fleeing the bus and drawing a large crowd to the scene. The driver promptly informed the police that the brake failure rendered him unable to stop the vehicle, leading to the chaotic situation.

Response and Current Status

Police authorities reached the spot swiftly, taking charge of the situation by normalizing traffic flow and removing the damaged vehicles to clear the area. The injured individuals, who sustained minor injuries—primarily passengers seated in the front of the bus—were transported to a nearby hospital for essential first aid treatment. As of now, no First Information Report (FIR) has been registered in connection with the incident, according to ASI Arvind Kumar Nirala.
