Patna Authorities Ramp Up Security with Extensive Deployments for Eid Celebrations

In a comprehensive move to ensure peaceful festivities, District Magistrate Thiyagarajan S M and Senior Superintendent of Police Kartikeya K Sharma have mandated the deployment of magistrates and police personnel at 442 strategic locations across Patna district. This security initiative is specifically designed to maintain law and order during the upcoming Eid celebrations, scheduled for Saturday.

Strategic Deployment Across All Subdivisions

The extensive security blanket covers all key subdivisions of the district. According to official directives, deployments include 65 locations in Patna Sadar, 153 in Patna City, 79 in Danapur, 59 in Barh, 39 in Masaurhi, and 47 in Paliganj. This widespread coverage ensures that no area is left without adequate security presence during the celebrations.

Armed Personnel and Quick Response Teams on Standby

Addressing a crucial review meeting, District Magistrate Thiyagarajan S M emphasized that all duty points will be manned by armed personnel and lathi forces. Quick response teams have been kept on standby to address any emergent situations promptly. Additionally, flag marches have been mandated to demonstrate security preparedness and deter potential troublemakers.

"Strict action will be taken against anti-social elements and those spreading rumours on social media under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita," the DM stated firmly. To coordinate all security efforts, a 24x7 district control room has been activated, complementing existing emergency and police helpline numbers.

Enhanced Security Measures at Key Locations

The security apparatus includes the deployment of 26 reserve magistrates in three shifts at various control rooms. Specific allocations feature 11 magistrates at Gandhi Maidan and 18 in Patna City, among other critical locations. A temporary police station has been established at Gandhi Maidan to handle any incidents directly at this major gathering point.

For crowd management, devotees will be permitted entry through gates 4 to 10 at Gandhi Maidan, while vehicles will enter through gates 5, 7, and 10 for parking between gates 5 and 10. This structured approach aims to prevent congestion and ensure smooth movement.

Comprehensive Support Services Arranged

Beyond security, authorities have arranged extensive support services. Medical teams and ambulances have been stationed at Gandhi Maidan and the district control room. Major hospitals including IGIMS, PMCH, NMCH, AIIMS, and Guru Gobind Singh Hospital have been put on high alert to handle any medical emergencies.

The Patna Municipal Corporation and Public Health Engineering Department have been directed to arrange water tankers and ensure ATM availability for the convenience of citizens. Furthermore, fire brigades have been strategically stationed at major locations to respond to any fire-related incidents.

Hierarchical Supervision and Responsibility

Senior Superintendent of Police Kartikeya K Sharma outlined the supervisory structure for the security arrangements. "Sub-divisional officers and respective police officers will be responsible for their areas, while the additional district magistrate (law and order) and city, and rural SPs will supervise overall arrangements," the SSP explained. This clear chain of command ensures accountability and efficient coordination across all security operations.

The comprehensive security measures reflect the administration's commitment to facilitating a peaceful and joyous Eid celebration for all residents of Patna district.
