Patna Legislature Complex Fortified with Comprehensive Security Measures Ahead of Crucial Budget Session
In preparation for the upcoming budget session scheduled from February 2 to February 27, authorities in Patna have implemented stringent security protocols at the state legislature complex. The comprehensive security arrangements were finalized during a high-level meeting chaired by Patna District Magistrate Thiyagarajan SM on Saturday, where detailed briefings were provided to magistrates and police officers assigned to legislative premises.
Multi-Layered Security Framework Established
District Magistrate Thiyagarajan SM conducted an extensive review of all security preparations, emphasizing the critical importance of maintaining order during the legislative proceedings. A sophisticated three-tier security system has been activated in accordance with established protocols, creating multiple layers of protection around the legislative complex.
The entire premises will remain under constant surveillance through strategically positioned CCTV cameras, while eight specialized quick response teams have been mobilized and will remain on high alert throughout the session duration. These teams are prepared for immediate deployment should any security concerns arise.
Centralized Command and Strict Entry Controls
A dedicated control room has been established within the legislature complex itself, where senior officers will maintain continuous coordination with all deployed personnel. This centralized command center will ensure strict enforcement of security directives and facilitate real-time communication across all security layers.
Stringent entry restrictions have been implemented, with no unauthorized persons or vehicles permitted to enter either the legislature or secretariat buildings without valid entry passes. District Magistrate Thiyagarajan emphasized that any breach of this regulation would result in accountability for both the deputed magistrate and police officer responsible for that particular access point.
Operational Protocols and Legal Framework
All officers assigned to security duty have received specific instructions regarding their reporting times and operational responsibilities. Personnel are required to report to their designated positions by 9:00 AM on February 2, the inaugural day of the session. On subsequent days, officers must arrive one hour before the commencement of daily legislative proceedings and remain at their posts until the conclusion of each day's session.
As an additional precautionary measure to maintain peace and prevent disturbances in and around the legislative complex, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Patna Sadar will impose prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita. These restrictions will remain in effect for the entire duration of the 26-day budget session.
Leadership and Oversight Structure
Overall responsibility for security during this critical period has been assigned to the Sub-Divisional Officer of Patna Sadar and the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of the Secretariat. District Magistrate Thiyagarajan, accompanied by senior officials, conducted a thorough inspection of the premises to personally assess security arrangements and issue necessary directives.
In his concluding remarks, Thiyagarajan urged every deputed magistrate and police officer to maintain heightened alertness throughout the extended legislative session. The comprehensive security framework represents a coordinated effort to ensure smooth proceedings during this important budgetary period while maintaining public safety and legislative integrity.
