Petrol Crisis: MVA Attacks BJP Over Fuel Shortage

The opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) in Maharashtra has launched a sharp attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), questioning whether the so-called 'double-engine government' is running out of fuel. The criticism comes amid reports of severe petrol and diesel shortages across the state.

MVA Highlights Fuel Crisis

In a statement issued on Thursday, MVA leaders cited multiple incidents to underline the gravity of the situation. They pointed to long queues at petrol stations in several cities, a stabbing incident involving a petrol pump worker in Jalgaon, and a troubling case in Nagpur where police vehicles reportedly ran out of fuel while searching for a missing girl.

Incidents Raise Alarms

The opposition claimed that the fuel crisis is a direct result of the BJP-led government's mismanagement. The stabbing of a petrol pump employee in Jalgaon, allegedly over a dispute related to fuel rationing, has raised serious concerns about public safety. Additionally, the Nagpur police incident, where officers were left stranded during a critical search operation, has been termed as a failure of governance.

MVA leaders demanded immediate intervention from the state and central governments to resolve the fuel supply issues. They also accused the BJP of prioritizing political interests over public welfare.

The BJP, however, has dismissed the allegations, stating that the fuel shortage is a temporary issue caused by logistical challenges and global market fluctuations. The ruling party assured that steps are being taken to normalize supplies.

As the political slugfest intensifies, common citizens continue to bear the brunt of the crisis, with many spending hours in queues for fuel. The MVA has called for a statewide protest if the situation does not improve soon.
