PM Modi to visit Hyderabad on Sunday, dedicate Rs 9,400 cr projects

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to land in Hyderabad on Sunday, just a day after attending the swearing-in ceremony of the first-ever BJP chief minister for West Bengal in Kolkata. During the visit, he will virtually dedicate multiple development projects worth Rs 9,400 crore in Telangana, followed by a public meeting at Parade Ground in Secunderabad in the evening.

Government Programme at HICC

The virtual inaugurations and foundation stone laying is a government programme being organized at HICC in Hitec City. Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka, and Union ministers will attend the event. This is Modi's first visit to the city after assuming charge as Prime Minister for a third term. Sources said after big wins in West Bengal and Assam, BJP's central leadership will now focus on Telangana, where the party sees an opportunity to grow its footprint.

BJP's Strategy in Telangana

BJP state president N Ramchander Rao told TOI: "The people of Telangana gave the BRS two terms in government and then went with the Congress. Both BRS and Congress have failed to deliver on their numerous promises. We are seeking an opportunity from the people."

He will go by road to HICC, Hitec City, the venue of the programme, where the PM will virtually inaugurate the PM Mitra Park at Warangal. He will also lay the foundation stones for the Zaheerabad Industrial Area in Sangareddy, the four-laning of National Highway-167 from Gudebellur to Mahabubnagar on Hyderabad-Panaji Economic Corridor, and dedicate to the nation Indian Oil's Greenfield Terminal at Malkapur, Hyderabad. He will also dedicate a cancer-focused multi-super specialty quaternary care hospital in Hitec City and then return to Begumpet airport. He will then leave for the public meeting at Parade Grounds.

Rally Preparations

The state BJP has made elaborate arrangements for the rally and is making efforts to mobilize nearly two lakh people. The party also undertook a wall writing campaign in the state ahead of the rally, in which Union ministers G Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay and N Ramchander Rao participated.

A majority of the crowd mobilization is being done from Greater Hyderabad, Malkajgiri, and Cyberabad municipal corporations with an eye on elections to these three civic bodies in the state capital by the year end. Focus is also on mobilizing women.
