PM Modi Unveils Uttarakhand Projects & Special Stamps

Historic Celebrations Mark Uttarakhand's 25th Formation Day

Prime Minister Narendra Modi graced the silver jubilee celebrations of Uttarakhand's formation with a grand ceremony in Dehradun on Sunday. The event, organized by the Uttarakhand Postal Division, witnessed the release of a special postage stamp series that beautifully captures the state's spiritual and cultural essence.

Cultural Tribute Through Special Stamps

The newly launched postage stamp series serves as a visual journey through Uttarakhand's major pilgrimage sites and cultural symbols. This collection aims to establish a distinct identity for Devbhoomi Uttarakhand at the national level by showcasing its rich religious heritage, diverse cultural traditions, and breathtaking natural landscapes that have drawn spiritual seekers for centuries.

During the ceremony, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami honored Prime Minister Modi with a special memento inspired by the Omkareshwar Temple in Ukhimath, further emphasizing the state's deep spiritual connections and architectural heritage.

Substantial Financial Support for Farmers

In a significant move supporting the agricultural community, Prime Minister Modi transferred over ₹62 crore directly to the bank accounts of more than 28,000 farmers under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana. This direct benefit transfer provides crucial financial protection to farmers against natural disasters and crop losses, ensuring their livelihoods remain secure during challenging times.

Massive Infrastructure Boost for Hill State

The Prime Minister unveiled infrastructure projects worth ₹8,000 crore designed to accelerate Uttarakhand's development. In his address, Modi emphasized a paradigm shift in how mountainous regions are perceived in development planning. "Earlier, the mountains were seen as obstacles to development, but today they are opening new paths of progress," he remarked, highlighting the changing perspective toward hill state development.

Demonstrating his deep connection with the local culture, PM Modi wore a traditional pahadi cap and occasionally spoke in the Garhwali-Kumaoni dialect, striking an immediate chord with the people. He beautifully referenced Uttarakhand's folk traditions and local festivals, including celebrations such as Harela, Phuldei, Bhitoli, Nandadevi, Jauljibi and Devidhura fairs, as well as the unique Butter Festival of Dayara Bugyal.

The comprehensive approach combining cultural preservation with substantial infrastructure development and farmer welfare marks a significant milestone in Uttarakhand's journey, celebrating its 25 years of statehood while charting a progressive course for the future.
