According to Dhanbad Police Station Officer-in-Charge Manoj Pandey, the poster was discovered positioned in the middle of the road near the Randhir Verma Roundabout. Officer Pandey confirmed that investigations commenced immediately following the report.
Local shopkeepers provided a crucial lead, informing police that a middle-aged man, described as appearing mentally deranged, was seen placing the poster on the roadway. The ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) party has taken serious note of the incident. Mantu Kumar Chouhan, president of the JMM's Dhanbad city unit, filed a formal complaint with police against unidentified miscreants. "The manner in which the large poster has been placed on the road suggests it has been done deliberately to damage the chief minister's standing," Chouhan stated in his complaint. He further revealed that party members first learned about the incident through social media posts circulating about the controversial placement of the political poster.
