Prashant Kishor Vows to Transform Bihar, Challenges BJP in Bankipur By-Election
Prashant Kishor Vows Bihar Transformation, Challenges BJP

Patna: Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor on Wednesday reiterated his resolve to “transform” Bihar, saying he would pursue the mission at all costs. He also announced that his party would put up a strong challenge to the BJP in the forthcoming Bankipur assembly by-election, necessitated by the nomination of sitting MLA Nitin Nabin to the Rajya Sabha.

Unwavering Commitment to Transformation

“We have come with the promise to transform Bihar. Until that mission is achieved, there is no question of going back,” Prashant told reporters late on Wednesday evening. The statement underscores his determination to bring about change in the state, despite Jan Suraaj’s failure to secure any seats in last year’s Assembly elections.

Bankipur: A BJP Stronghold

Jan Suraaj failed to open its account in last year’s Assembly elections despite fielding candidates in a majority of constituencies. However, Prashant expressed confidence about the party’s prospects in Bankipur, which has remained a BJP stronghold for nearly three decades. Nitin Nabin himself was elected from the constituency six consecutive times, making the upcoming by-election a significant test for both parties.

Aggressive Campaign Strategy

Declaring an aggressive campaign strategy, Prashant said, “Will visit every home, launch intensive poll campaign and defeat the BJP. Will defeat it in its own home, this is our challenge.” The remarks underline Jan Suraaj’s attempt to establish itself as a serious political challenger in Bihar ahead of the by-election.

Prashant Kishor’s Ashram Move

Last week, Prashant shifted to an ashram on the outskirts of Patna, stating that he would remain there until meaningful change is brought about in Bihar. This move signals his long-term commitment to the cause and his willingness to lead from the front.
