Prof Ram Pal Saini Appointed Vice-Chancellor of Chaudhary Ranbir Singh University

Prof Ram Pal Saini, the former Principal of DAV PG College in Karnal, has been appointed as the regular Vice-Chancellor of Chaudhary Ranbir Singh University (CRSU) in Jind. The announcement was made on Tuesday under orders from the Governor-cum-Chancellor of the university. Prior to this, Prof Saini had been serving as the Acting Vice-Chancellor of the institution.

With nearly three decades of experience in higher education and academic administration, Prof Saini began his teaching career in 1996 at the Department of Law, Kurukshetra University. He then dedicated two decades of distinguished service at Sanatan Dharma (SD) College in Panipat. Following that, he served as Principal at DAV PG College, Karnal, for almost ten years.

Prof Saini has held several key positions at Kurukshetra University, including Chairman of the Cultural Council, and was an active member of the University Court (Senate), Academic Council, Sports Council, and multiple Boards of Studies. As a research scholar in Political Science, his doctoral research during 2008–09 focused on “The Positive and Negative Dimensions of Secularism with Special Reference to the Bharatiya Janata Party.”

Beyond academia, Prof Saini has made significant contributions to preserving and promoting Haryana’s rich folk heritage. He is widely recognized as a custodian of Haryanvi culture and is also an accomplished author and folk singer. He has authored seven books and published over 45 research papers in national and international journals. Additionally, he has delivered keynote addresses at more than 70 seminars, conferences, and academic forums in India and abroad.

His appointment has been warmly welcomed by academicians, social leaders, and student organizations across the region.
