Pune Land Official Suspended for Serious Procedural Violations
In a significant administrative action, Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule has suspended Vidya Shankar Bade, the in-charge joint sub-registrar at Haveli sub-registrar office in Pune. The suspension comes after serious procedural violations were discovered in the registration of government-owned land at Tathawade.
The Tathawade Land Registration Scandal
The irregularity centers around sale deed document No. 685/2025 involving 6 hectares and 32 are of land located in Survey No. 20, Mouje Tathawade, Taluka Mulshi. This particular land parcel is under the possession of the Commissioner of Animal Husbandry and carries explicit restrictions against sale without prior government approval.
During the registration process, Bade committed multiple violations that enabled the illegal transaction. Most notably, he failed to attach an updated or recent 7/12 extract and instead accepted an outdated document. Had he verified the 7/12 extract valid on the registration date, he would have encountered the restrictive endorsement clearly stating: "Prohibited from purchase-sale without prior government permission." This would have warranted immediate rejection of the document.
Systematic Bypassing of Protocols
Further investigation revealed additional irregularities in the registration process. Despite the recorded owner being deceased with no legal heirs entered in official records, Bade cited technical difficulties and utilized the 'skip' option to complete the registration. Crucially, he proceeded without obtaining any permission from superior authorities, completely bypassing established protocols.
The Inspector General of Registration confirmed that evidence clearly indicates an attempt to execute the transaction through deliberate irregularities. The systematic nature of these violations suggests intentional misconduct rather than procedural oversight.
Government's Strict Stance Against Corruption
Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule has taken a firm stance on the matter, emphasizing that violation of rules will not be tolerated. In his statement, Bawankule declared: "Violation of rules will be punished. There will be zero tolerance against violation or wrong doing in department."
This suspension demonstrates the government's commitment to maintaining transparency and accountability in land registration processes. The action sends a strong message to officials across the revenue department that procedural violations, especially those involving government land, will face severe consequences.
The case has been forwarded for further investigation to determine if additional individuals were involved in the attempted illegal registration of the valuable government land in Pune's rapidly developing Tathawade area.
