Punjab Law & Order Crisis: Congress Chief Urges CM Mann to Act Now
Punjab Congress Chief Warns of Deteriorating Law & Order

In a stark warning highlighting a growing crisis, Punjab Congress President Amrinder Singh Raja Warring has called upon Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to take immediate and serious note of the rapidly deteriorating law and order situation across the state. Warring expressed grave concern, stating that Punjab is increasingly resembling a 'killing field' where criminals and gangsters operate with alarming regularity and impunity.

A State Gripped by Fear and Terror

Reacting strongly to a recent series of violent incidents, including a firing that took place in Batala on Tuesday, the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president framed the issue as one that threatens the very foundation of Punjab. He emphasized that the core identity of Punjab as a peaceful and progressive state is now at stake. "Unfortunately, we are losing on that as hardly a day passes without a killing by criminals and gangsters taking place somewhere," Warring lamented.

He painted a grim picture of a state enveloped in "fear and terror" where gangsters possess the audacity to strike at will. The Congress leader pointed out that the menace is widespread, spanning from Batala in one part of the state to Abohar in another, indicating that no region is immune to this wave of criminal dominance.

Citizens Forced into Silence, Losing Faith in System

Warring made a serious allegation that the reign of terror has forced many ordinary citizens into a corner. He claimed that numerous people are being compelled to pay "ransom" and "protection money" to these criminal elements. The more distressing part, according to him, is that these victims choose not to lodge official complaints due to a complete lack of faith in the government and the police machinery's ability to protect them.

This breakdown of public trust, Warring suggested, is a direct consequence of the state government's failure to curb the rising tide of crime. He called for firm and decisive action to restore order and the rule of law.

Congress Offers Support, But Demands Immediate Action

While appealing to the Chief Minister, Warring assured that the Congress party, as the principal opposition, would stand firmly with the government in any genuine effort to eradicate crime and rid Punjab of criminals and gangsters. "Let me assure you that... the Congress will stand by you in every action to finish the crime and get rid of the criminals and gangsters," he stated.

However, he coupled this offer of cooperation with a sense of extreme urgency. Warring warned that the time for action is now, stressing that any delay could lead the state to a "situation of no return." His message to the Aam Aadmi Party-led government was clear: the deteriorating security scenario demands immediate and uncompromising intervention before it spirals completely out of control.
