Punjab Transfers 11 IPS Officers, New Jalandhar Police Commissioner

The Punjab Government on Monday ordered the transfer and posting of 11 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers with immediate effect as part of an administrative reshuffle. The decision was announced through an order issued by the Home Affairs Department.

Key Appointments and Transfers

Senior IPS officer Anita Punj has been moved from her position as Special Director General-cum-Director of the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Police Academy (MRS PPA) in Phillaur. She has now been posted as Special Director General of Police (DGP) for Human Resource Development and Welfare.

Jalandhar Commissioner of Police Dhanpreet Kaur has been appointed as the new Director of the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Police Academy (MRS PPA) in Phillaur. Meanwhile, Ludhiana Range Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Satinder Singh has been posted as the new Commissioner of Police for Jalandhar.

Other Significant Postings

  • Pradeep Kumar Yadav will continue as Inspector General of Police (IGP) for Technical Services, Punjab. He has been relieved of his additional charge as Resident Commissioner for Police Coordination at Punjab Bhawan, New Delhi.
  • Vivek Sheel Soni, Commandant of the 75th Battalion, Punjab Armed Police (PAP) in Jalandhar, has been assigned the role of DIG for the Border Range in Amritsar.

New DIG Appointments

Three officers recently promoted to the rank of DIG have been given new assignments:

  • Surinderjit Singh Mand has been posted as DIG (Prisons).
  • Kanwaldeep Singh has been posted as DIG (Law and Order).
  • Sandeep Kumar Sharma has been posted as DIG (PAP-II) in Jalandhar.

Additional Changes

Sandeep Goel, who was serving as DIG (Anti-Gangster Task Force-II) in Ludhiana and holding the additional charge of DIG (Border Range) in Amritsar, has been posted as DIG (Ludhiana Range).

Among other changes, Suhail Qasim Mir, Superintendent of Police (SSP) for Amritsar Rural, has been appointed as Assistant Inspector General (AIG) for Personnel-I in Punjab. Pragya Jain, SSP of Faridkot, has been posted as AIG (Law and Order) at Chandigarh.
