Members of the Raichur District Muslim Committee staged a protest at Dr BR Ambedkar Circle in the city on Saturday, demanding fair political representation for the Muslim community in the state government and seeking a cabinet berth for senior leader BZ Zameer Ahmed Khan.

Protest Details

The protesters alleged that despite Muslims overwhelmingly supporting the Congress in the last assembly elections, which they said helped the party form the government, the community has not been given adequate political representation.

Participants

Maulana Sheikh Fareed, Maulana Rafeeq Saab, Maulana Arif Saab, Atif Saab, Imran Badesab, Mohammed Rafeeq, Chand Pasha, Habib Gonal, Farooq Yarager, along with other Muslim community leaders, religious heads and representatives of various organisations, participated in the protest.
