The family of murdered transport businessman Raja Raghuwanshi has expressed serious safety concerns after a Shillong court granted bail to Sonam Raghuwanshi, the prime accused in the case. On Wednesday, the family demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the murder, alleging that the local investigation has been inadequate and biased.
Family Alleges Sonam Is Mastermind
Uma Raghuwanshi, the mother of the deceased, stated, "It is my appeal to Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav to intervene and initiate a CBI investigation into the case." She called Sonam the mastermind behind her son's murder and expressed her desire to confront Sonam if she returns to Indore. "I want to look her in the eye and ask why my son was murdered," Uma added.
Chargesheet Not Provided to Family
Vipin, the brother of the deceased, claimed that the family has not yet received a copy of the chargesheet, while it has reportedly been made available to the defense. He expressed fear of physical retaliation if he travels to Shillong to appeal against the bail. Despite these concerns, the family affirmed that they will approach a higher court to seek the cancellation of Sonam's bail.
Govind Raghuwanshi, Sonam's brother, did not respond to phone calls for comment regarding these allegations. The family continues to press for a fair investigation, citing procedural lapses and potential threats to their safety.
