Rajasthan BJP Unveils 34-Member State Executive, Signals Major Overhaul
Rajasthan BJP Announces New 34-Member State Executive

Rajasthan BJP Undergoes Major Leadership Reshuffle

The Bharatiya Janata Party in Rajasthan announced a completely reconstituted state executive committee on Thursday, signaling a decisive break from the previous leadership structure. The new 34-member team includes nine vice-presidents, four general secretaries, seven secretaries, one treasurer, one co-treasurer, one department in-charge, and seven spokespersons.

A Clean Slate With Notable Omissions

In a move that underscores a comprehensive overhaul, only one name from the outgoing committee was retained – general secretary Shravan Singh Bagdi. This sweeping change has led to the exclusion of several prominent figures, including former mayor Jyoti Khandelwal, who joined the BJP after quitting the Congress, and Udaipur's Anita Katara.

The official announcement has reignited discussions within party circles about a similar list that was leaked and circulated on BJP WhatsApp groups nearly a month ago, causing considerable internal uproar at the time. While most names from the viral list feature in the official one, several key omissions have been noted by senior leaders.

Promotions, Demotions, and Internal Dissent

The new committee also indicates a handful of significant positional changes. BJP's former chief spokesperson Ramlal Sharma has been reassigned as a spokesperson specifically for Jaipur Rural. In another notable appointment, Apurva Singh, the wife of senior IAS officer KK Pathak who is currently on central deputation, has been appointed as the Bikaner secretary.

According to party insiders, the finalization of the list saw several names with links to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) being dropped, a decision that has left a section of the party dissatisfied. One senior BJP leader, speaking on condition of anonymity, critically predicted that this executive "will not last long", citing its lack of leaders with a "grassroots connect" and a failure to achieve proper "social balance".

The formation of this new team sets the stage for the BJP's organizational strategy in Rajasthan as it prepares for future political challenges, making this reshuffle a critical development in the state's political landscape.
