Rajasthan Government Cancels Officials' Leave, Intensifies LPG Supply Monitoring

The Rajasthan state government has taken decisive action to ensure uninterrupted LPG supply to domestic consumers across the state by cancelling the leave of all officials in the food and civil supplies department. This move comes alongside strict orders for enhanced vigilance against hoarding and black marketing of liquefied petroleum gas cylinders.

Chief Minister Directs District-Level Monitoring

Chairing a comprehensive review meeting on Wednesday, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma issued clear directives to district collectors and other administrative officials to intensify monitoring of LPG and petroleum products throughout Rajasthan. The chief minister emphasized that strict action must be taken against anyone found indulging in hoarding or black marketing activities that could disrupt the supply chain.

"Inspections and continuous monitoring should be carried out at the district level so that common consumers do not face any inconvenience," stated Chief Minister Sharma during the meeting. He assured residents that there is adequate availability of LPG in the state and that the supply of domestic cylinders remains smooth and normal despite recent concerns.

Establishment of Control Rooms and Public Information Systems

To further strengthen the LPG distribution system, the chief minister directed that control rooms be established at both state and district levels to monitor availability and distribution of LPG cylinders. These control rooms will serve as coordination centers to address supply chain issues and respond to consumer concerns promptly.

Chief Secretary V Srinivas announced that joint teams are being formed at state and district levels specifically to provide accurate information to the public regarding LPG availability and supply arrangements. These teams will work closely with oil companies and gas distributors to ensure transparency in the distribution process.

Combatting Rumors and Ensuring Essential Services

Chief Minister Sharma specifically instructed officials to maintain a close watch on rumors and misinformation regarding LPG supply and take strict action against those spreading false information. Authorities have been directed to regularly inform the public through official channels about the actual availability and supply position of LPG cylinders.

The government has also prioritized ensuring adequate LPG supply for essential services, including educational institutions, hospitals, and other critical facilities. Officials will coordinate with oil companies and gas distributors to regularly review stock levels and supply mechanisms to prevent any disruption to these vital services.

Oil Companies Confirm Adequate Supply

During the review meeting, representatives of oil companies briefed officials on current LPG availability and confirmed that domestic cylinders are being delivered to consumers' homes through DAC authentication systems. This authentication process helps ensure that cylinders reach legitimate domestic consumers rather than being diverted for unauthorized purposes.

The chief minister made a direct appeal to Rajasthan residents, advising them not to believe rumors and to rely only on official information channels. He specifically advised consumers to contact government helplines 181 and 112 in case of any difficulty obtaining LPG cylinders or encountering supply issues.

This comprehensive approach by the Rajasthan government aims to maintain stability in LPG supply while preventing market manipulation that could disadvantage domestic consumers who rely on these essential cooking fuel cylinders.
