Rajasthan Government Executes Major IPS Reshuffle Affecting Nine Officers
The Rajasthan state government has implemented a significant administrative reshuffle, transferring nine Indian Police Service (IPS) officers in its second such list issued within a span of just six days. This move introduces pivotal changes within the Jaipur Commissionerate and Jaipur Rural districts, aiming to optimize law enforcement efficiency and leadership across key postings.
Key Appointments and Position Swaps in Jaipur
In a notable reversal of recent assignments, the government has appointed Sanjeev Nain as the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) for Crime in the Jaipur Commissionerate. This decision overturns his earlier appointment as Superintendent of Police (SP) for Jaipur Rural, which was part of the reshuffle conducted on March 13. Consequently, Hanuman Prasad Meena will exchange positions with Nain, assuming the role of SP Jaipur Rural. Meena was previously serving as DCP (West) and had been moved to DCP (Crime) in the prior reshuffle.
Additional Transfers and New Postings
According to the official government notification, several other officers have been reassigned to new responsibilities:
- Yogesh Goyal will take charge as DCP (Traffic) in Jaipur. Goyal, who was SP Udaipur before being shifted to the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on March 13, replaces Nischay Prasad. Prasad has now been posted as SP Churu.
- Piyush Dixit, recently appointed SP Karauli, will now assume the position of SP ACB in Jaipur, effectively replacing Goyal in this capacity.
- Chuna Ram Jat has been transferred from his role as commandant of the 5th RAC Battalion to become SP Barmer.
Further Adjustments in District Postings
The reshuffle also encompasses changes in other districts, ensuring a comprehensive realignment of police leadership:
- Sawai Madhopur SP Anil Kumar will replace Chuna Ram Jat in his new assignment.
- Jyeshtha Maitrei has been transferred from Banswara to Sawai Madhopur. Maitrei was posted as SP Banswara in the March 13 reshuffle.
- 2015-batch IPS officer Kavendra Singh Sagar will take charge as SP Jhunjhunu. He was earlier transferred to the civil rights wing at police headquarters in the previous list.
This extensive reshuffle underscores the state government's ongoing efforts to streamline police administration and enhance operational effectiveness across Rajasthan. The rapid succession of transfer lists within a week highlights a dynamic approach to personnel management, potentially addressing specific needs or performance evaluations in various jurisdictions.
