Rajasthan Government Executes Major Police Reshuffle with 64 IPS Transfers
The Rajasthan government on Friday implemented a significant administrative overhaul within the state police force, ordering the transfer of 64 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers. This large-scale reshuffle has resulted in substantial changes to the leadership structure of the Jaipur Police Commissionerate and has reassigned numerous district police chiefs across Rajasthan.
Key Appointments in Jaipur Police Commissionerate
Under the new orders, the Jaipur Police Commissionerate has seen several high-level changes. DIG Ajay Singh has been appointed as the new Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) for Jaipur. He replaces Manish Agarwal, who has been transferred to the intelligence wing of the Rajasthan Police, located at the police headquarters.
Further appointments within the commissionerate include:
- Ranjita Sharma posted as Deputy Commissioner of Police (East), replacing Sanjeev Nain.
- Sanjeev Nain reassigned as Superintendent of Police for Jaipur (Rural).
- Prashant Kiran appointed as Deputy Commissioner of Police (West).
- Hanuman Prasad Meena shifted to the role of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime).
- Nishchay Prasad M posted as Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic).
District Police Chiefs Reassigned Across Rajasthan
The transfer order extends beyond Jaipur, impacting police leadership in multiple districts. Notable postings include:
- Narendra Singh appointed as Superintendent of Police for Barmer district.
- Mridul Kachawa takes charge as SP Bikaner.
- Amrita Duhan posted as SP Udaipur.
- Roshan Meena appointed as SP Nagaur.
- Harsh Vardhan Agarwala assumes the role of SP Ajmer.
Additional significant transfers include Sudheer Joshi being moved from Banswara to Jhunjhunu as SP, and Yogesh Goyal transferred from Udaipur to the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB). Narendra Singh Meena has been shifted from Barmer to Hanumangarh to serve as Superintendent of Police.

The reshuffle also encompassed several other key districts. Piyush Dixit has been appointed as the Superintendent of Police for Karauli, while Pushpendra Singh Rathore takes over as SP Sirohi. In Jodhpur, Kamal Shekhawat has been appointed as Deputy Commissioner of Police (West).
Furthermore, Avnish Kumar Sharma has been posted as SP Bundi, and Brijesh Jyoti Upadhya has been transferred from Jhunjhunu to Bhiwadi.
