A delegation of the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD), led by cabinet minister Anil Kumar, met with Uttar Pradesh Energy Minister AK Sharma on Tuesday. The delegation urged the immediate enhancement of the capacity of 33/11 kV electricity substations in the rural areas of western Uttar Pradesh.
Growing Power Demand
The team highlighted the rapidly increasing power demand in the region. They pressed for urgent upgradation of the existing substations to ensure a reliable and uninterrupted electricity supply to the rural populace.
Delegation Members
The delegation included Lok Sabha MP Chandan Chauhan, Chaprauli MLA Ajay Kumar, RLD state president (trade wing) Rohit Agarwal, former minister Yograj Singh, and mandal president Prabhat Kumar. Together, they presented the pressing need for infrastructure improvements.
Government Assurance
Minister Sharma assured the RLD leaders that the state government would take prompt action on the matter. He emphasized that public interest remains the top priority for the government, and steps would be initiated to address the issue.
The meeting underscores the collaborative efforts between political parties and the government to address critical infrastructure gaps in rural areas.
