A burglary in Nashik's Suchita Nagar area has led to the theft of cash and jewellery valued at approximately Rs 36 lakh. The incident took place under the jurisdiction of the Mumbai Naka police station while the residents were out of town, according to police reports.
Details of the Theft
The theft occurred between 1:00 p.m. on Sunday and 10:00 a.m. on Monday. An unidentified burglar broke the latch and lock of the main door and made off with valuables, including Rs 24 lakh in cash and jewellery worth over Rs 12 lakh.
The complainant and his family were away on May 17 and 18 when the break-in happened. The crime was discovered when the complainant checked the CCTV footage of his flat via his mobile phone and noticed the main door was open. He immediately alerted neighbours, one of whom verified the situation and informed him about the theft. The complainant rushed back to Nashik and found that the accused had looted cash and jewellery from five cupboards inside the flat.
Stolen Items and Investigation
According to the police, the stolen jewellery includes gold, silver, and diamond items. A case has been registered against an unidentified accused. Officials stated that further investigation is underway, and efforts are ongoing to identify and trace the burglar.
