In a surprising discovery, bundles of cash amounting to Rs 4 lakh were found strewn on a highway in Uttar Pradesh's Shamli district, prompting a police investigation. The incident came to light on Friday when a local resident noticed the cash stacked in bundles on the road near Kabaraut village and immediately informed the authorities.
Police Recovery
Upon receiving the tip-off, a police team rushed to the spot and secured the area. The officers recovered the notes, which were neatly bundled and appeared to be in good condition. The cash has been taken into custody for further examination.
Investigation Launched
Senior police officials have launched a probe to determine the origin of the money and why it was left on the highway. Preliminary investigations suggest that the cash may have been dropped accidentally or abandoned deliberately. Authorities are checking vehicle movements and nearby CCTV footage to trace the owner.
