RSSB Tightens Rules: Degree Upload Mandatory from Jan to Curb Fake Certificates
RSSB Mandates Degree Upload at Application Stage from Jan

In a significant move to enhance the integrity of its recruitment process, the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB) has announced a major procedural change set to take effect from January next year. Candidates applying for various recruitment exams conducted by the board will now be required to upload their educational degree certificates at the very time of filling out the online application form.

A Proactive Step to Eliminate Fraud

Officials stated on Wednesday that this step is being implemented as an additional security measure specifically designed to prevent candidates from submitting forged educational documents. The decision directly addresses a loophole in the previous system.

Maj Gen (retired) Alok Raj, the chairperson of RSSB, explained the rationale behind the shift. "Till now, candidates were required to upload their documents only after they were shortlisted for a post, following the written exams. This gap gave unscrupulous candidates time to arrange fake degrees," he said. "Now, with the uploading of documents mandated at the application stage itself, only those candidates who are genuinely eligible through all criteria will apply."

Creating an Immutable, Centralized Record

The new system introduces a layer of permanence and traceability to a candidate's credentials. Chairman Alok Raj emphasized that once a document is uploaded by a candidate, it cannot be altered or changed for subsequent exams.

"Whether a candidate is applying for a recruitment exam conducted by RSSB or the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC), the documents will remain the same as they will be linked with the candidate's one-time login ID," he added. "So, even if a candidate holds multiple degrees, they will not be able to switch documents as per the convenience of different recruitment agencies for different exams."

This initiative will lead to the creation of a centralized digital record of degrees for all candidates. This repository can be efficiently cross-verified by various recruiting agencies, making fraudulent submissions extremely difficult to sustain across multiple job applications.

Multi-Pronged Approach to Exam Security

The crackdown on fake degrees is part of a broader suite of security enhancements being rolled out by the RSSB. Officials revealed that to prevent the use of dummy candidates, biometric and facial recognition systems have been deployed not only during the examination itself but also at the stage of document verification.

Furthermore, in a bid to eliminate the perennial problem of paper leaks, the board has started getting different sets of question papers printed from multiple, separate printing presses. This multi-source strategy aims to obscure the trail and secure the integrity of the exam papers until the moment they are distributed in the examination hall.

Together, these measures represent a comprehensive effort by the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board to restore and maintain public trust in its recruitment processes, ensuring that selections are made purely on the basis of merit and authentic qualifications.
