Sasikala Intensifies Campaign Against DMK in Trichy Rally
AIPTMMK general secretary V K Sasikala launched a sharp critique of the ruling DMK during a campaign event in Trichy on Thursday, calling for the party's removal from power to avert what she described as a descent into anarchic rule in Tamil Nadu. Opposition to Lok Sabha Constituency Reduction
Sasikala made a direct appeal to the Union government, urging it not to reduce Tamil Nadu's Lok Sabha constituencies. She argued that the state has diligently implemented population control measures over many years, and penalizing it with fewer parliamentary seats would be unjust. "Tamil Nadu has shown responsibility in managing its population growth, and this should not be used as a reason to diminish our political representation at the national level," she asserted, highlighting a key regional concern in the broader electoral context.
Allegations of Abuse and Suicide Case
During her campaign stop in Srirangam, Sasikala brought attention to the tragic suicide of a 25-year-old woman from Manachanallur. She alleged that the victim had been abused by DMK workers, using this incident to underscore her warnings about the party's conduct. "This heartbreaking case is a symptom of the lawlessness that can prevail under the current administration," she stated, urging voters to scrutinize the DMK's actions rather than its promises.
Critique of Financial Aid Schemes
Sasikala also took aim at financial aid schemes announced in both the DMK and AIADMK election manifestos. She warned that Tamil Nadu's government is already burdened with significant debt, struggling even to pay its employees, and that implementing such schemes would exacerbate the fiscal crisis. "Offering unsustainable financial aid is a dangerous gamble that will only increase the state's economic woes," she cautioned, positioning herself as a voice for fiscal prudence amid populist pledges.

In her concluding remarks, Sasikala implored the electorate to reject the DMK at the polls. "If we do not sideline the DMK, they will descend into even greater anarchy, undermining the state's future," she declared.
