Satheesan Exposes Alleged CPM-BJP 'Secret Deal' Across Multiple Kerala Constituencies
Opposition leader V D Satheesan has made explosive allegations on Monday, claiming that the purported 'secret deal' between the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and the Bharatiya Janata Party is not confined to Palakkad but is actively evident in several other key constituencies across Kerala. Speaking to reporters in North Paravur, Satheesan asserted that this covert nexus spans Kasaragod, Manjeshwar, Konni, and Ranni, threatening the state's secular fabric.
Seat-Sharing Patterns Point to 'Unholy Alliance'
Satheesan presented detailed evidence to support his claims, highlighting specific seat-sharing arrangements that he described as clear indicators of collusion. "The BJP has deliberately ceded the Konni seat, where it traditionally holds a significant vote share, to the BDJS," he stated. "Similarly, the Ranni seat was handed over to Twenty20, a party with minimal presence in that region. These moves are not coincidental but part of a calculated strategy."
He further alleged that orchestrated disruptions, such as the sudden silence of NDA candidates on the Sabarimala issue and the chaos during Thrissur Pooram, were engineered to indirectly benefit the BJP by creating favorable electoral conditions.
ED Investigation Lapses Raise Suspicion
Satheesan raised pointed questions about the Enforcement Directorate's handling of the Karuvannur Bank scam, suggesting a political motive behind the investigation's trajectory. "Why has the ED loosened its grip on the Karuvannur Bank scam immediately after the Parliament elections?" he challenged. "This investigation appears to have been used merely as a tool to pressure the CPM and facilitate a BJP victory in Thrissur. Once the deal was finalized and the seat secured, the ED mysteriously disappeared. Where is that investigation now?"
Countering CM's Allegations with Historical Context
In response to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's accusations of a 'Co-Le-B' (Congress-League-BJP) alliance, Satheesan fired back with historical references. "Pinarayi Vijayan himself entered the assembly in 1977 with the support of the RSS," he reminded. "He has no moral authority to lecture us on secularism after holding secret meetings with RSS leaders at the Mascot Hotel. His refusal to face the media is akin to behaving like a radio—broadcasting without engaging in dialogue."
UDF's Confidence and Call to Action
Expressing unwavering confidence in the United Democratic Front's prospects, Satheesan declared that the UDF is poised to dismantle this alleged nexus and secure over 100 seats in the upcoming assembly elections. "We will end a decade of misrule and reaffirm Kerala's secular identity," he affirmed. "The people of Kerala are witnessing a huge wave of support for the UDF, and they will deliver a fitting reply to the 'Pinarayi-BJP' partnership that threatens our democratic values."
Satheesan's allegations have injected a new layer of intensity into Kerala's political landscape, setting the stage for a fiercely contested election where claims of backroom deals and electoral manipulation are likely to dominate public discourse.
